Getting Started PDF

The Getting Started pdf document gives step by step instructions for setting up Syngraph. Flash demonstrations for setting up Syngraph are provided below.

You will need an external database application to use in conjuntion with Syngraph. Syngraph supports Access, SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle databases. Oracle databases must be linked to an Access database through an ODBC driver. Syngraph can be linked to an existing database or it can create the tables it needs in a blank database.

If you do not have an existing database, here are some suggestions. Access is the easiest to use, but Microsoft SQL Server Express and MySQL are free. If you are using MySQL, it is strongly suggested your system administrator set up a blank database for you.

p>Below are instructions for creating a blank database in Access, SQL Server Express, and MySQL. The demonstrations are in Flash format. Text instructions are provided for those who do not have the Flash player installed.

Here are instructions for linking an existing database to Syngraph. Make sure you click the "Apply Changes" button before opening the Data Dictionary Wizard. Otherwise, your database tables may not show up in the wizard. Also, you need to click either "Apply Changes" or "Okay" after you are finished linking your database tables to Syngraph. Once you are done, click the "Update Existing Database" button.
