How to change the settings for a relation


How to:
Set the relation to be modified
Add or change the type of relation
Add or change the confidence degree of a relation
Change the names addressed in a relation


How to set the relation to be modified

1. Set the current name using the Search form or Synonym display form (how to set the current name

2. Open the entry form (Ctrl+E)

3. Click on the Relations tab (below)

4. From the list of relations, select the one you want to change, and click on the button modify button

5. The relation on which you are working will be highlighted in blue in the graphical synonym display (below)

 

6. Change the settings of the selected relation

How to change the type of relation

1. Click on the button near the "Relation type" box; a pick list will appear

2. Choose the relation type

How to change the confidence degree of a relation

1. Click on the button near the "Confidence" box (indicated by the red arrow below); a pick list will appear

2. Choose the degree of confidence (indicated by the green arrow below); for choosing the appropiate degree, see
confidence degree symbols and conventions.

How to change the names addressed in a relation

Either names in a relation can be changed by using "THIS" or "IS_THIS" buttons

If you select to change the "THIS" name, an array of red buttons will be listed on the graphic display. Click on one of them to change the relation (see below)

If you select "IS_THIS" to change, an array of blue buttons will be listed on the graphic display. Click on one of them to change the relation (see below)

 

7. Click on "Stop edit" button (number 1 above) when you are done editing
