How to create a synonym list

  1. Open the Entry form (shortcut: CTRL+E). If the shortcut is not functioning and the "Window" menu is not enabled), choose from the menu "Database...-> Create a new synonym list" (below). IF you want to add another entry to an existing synonym list, use the Search form to open the synonym list and then open the Entry form

  2. On the Nomenclature tab click on add new entry in the synonym list button to open the Add name to the synonym list form

  3. Search for the name you want to add to the synonym list

  4. Using the optios buttons, select the option:

  5. "Add a key entry" - if you want to create a new synonym list

"Add another entry" - if you want to add a new entry to an existing synonym list

  6. Click "Add Name" button
  7. In case you selected to add a key entry Syngraph will open in Synonym display form a new synonym list with one entry: the chosen key entry

In case you selected to add another entry the name will be listed in the current synonym list. Syngraph will find the closest spelling in the synonym list and code the new entry with that color. If Syngraph does not find match, the name will be imposed on a red rectangle. You must set the appropiate color code. Syngraph will sort the names chronologically unless two or more entries in the list are from the same year; in that case, you must stipulate the order of entries

REMARK:
The following message will appear when you try to add a duplicate record to the current synonymy list:
