  • Description

The classification module can be used to inspect and build classification trees. This module allows inspection and editing of any kind of classification tree (e.g. taxonomic current classifications, taxonomic classifications inferred from a particular reference, classifications of place names)

In case of taxonomic trees, each taxon (node) in the classification can be searched for synonymy, distribution records, and additional information on the Internet (Tree of life, Treebase).

Classifications can be presented in several display formats. They can be printed on paper or saved as html Internet, ITIS, or Species2000 (in preparation) format files. Each taxon classification (path) can be saved as individual html files. These files can be used for display on Internet.
